Peter has written the score for animations such as Strike! (Amazon/ Apple) and stop animation Instagram sensation – Andrea Love’s Tulip. He recently scored, A Right Royal Sprout, which came out over Christmas on Channel 5 and Milkshake. He wrote the music for feature documentary A Stormtrooper Scandal available now on BBC IPlayer, with the soundtrack out on major streamers and composed the score for ITV 2 part documentary – WACO untold: The British Stories.
Peter has worked as part of John Powell’s composition/ orchestration team, working on recent illumination film Migration and Richard Curtis’s That Christmas. He also works with Danny Elfman on his extensive concert repertoire – including the new release on Sony of Elfman’s Percussion concerto and Symphonic piece Wunderkammer.
Peter has worked on a number of games including the original score for the Family Guy Game Warped Kart Racers for Apple Arcade and Feltopia, a stop motion Animation Game out soon on steam. He conducted and orchestrated AAA titles Horizon Zero Dawn (Ivor Novello 2018) and Horizon Forbidden West and orchestrated/ conducted the score for Manor Lords. He is currently composing the score for a TOP secret console/ PC game, to be announced soon!
Peter orchestrated and conducted the acclaimed PS4 epic, Horizon Zero Dawn (2017); the music by Joris de Man received an Ivor Novello Award and BAFTA nomination. Peter returned as conductor and orchestrator for the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, working once again with long standing friend and fellow composer Joris de Man. The collaboration continued in early 2023 with the downloadable content Burning Shores.
Peter had a busy and successful 2021, composing a Jazz/ Big Band score on How to Succeed in Biscuits (Without Really Trying) directed by Tania Emery (The Bill) and the prison drama Turn of the Screw directed by Chris Fretwell (Creative Earth Films). In Autumn, Peter composed for Christmas Crackers, a series of animated shorts for Sky Kids. Upcoming projects set for release in 2022 include an exciting new flagship release animated game for Apple Arcade, in collaboration with the games company Rev Rooms/ Electric Square and Audio Lead, (ex-Pinewood) Gavin Shepherd.
Peter’s prior credits include Tulip (2020), the multi award-winning animation by Andrea Love and Phoebe Wahl, in consideration for the 2022 Oscars and two feature films: Strike! (Amazon Prime/Sky Premiere) and Emu Runner (Australian Academy nominated).
In 2017, Peter conducted and arranged the 1960s seminal album by Liverpool poet Roger McGough and Andy Roberts: Summer with Monika, with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic’s new ensemble, 10/10. In the same year he conducted the City of Prague Philharmonic, orchestrating Animortal’s stop motion animation: Chuck Steel: Night of the Trampires (2018).
Peter wrote additional music for documentaries including Everton, Howard’s way (2019) (Apple TV) and Something Quite Peculiar: The Life and Times of Steve Kilbey (2017). He has written and orchestrated extensively for mainstream artists including Judie Tzuke and The Oyster Band and Claire Martin (OBE), working with labels Linn, Mercury, Sony and Island. Peter’s concert repertoire includes string orchestra piece No time for goodbyes and his one movement Violin Concerto Christmas Fantasy.
